Love where you live.

Love where you live. For whatever reason there is this stigma that exists on where we live that tends to make people act a little crazy. The reason I say this is because I am continuously seeing people arguing over where they want to live. This topic is not subject to any opinion but your own, so why are people arguing. That’s what people don’t realize. If you want to stay where you live because you are happy then that is your right. Just as it is your right to move if you’re not happy. However, just because you decide to do one or the other doesn’t mean that your decision is the right decision for everyone else. That doesn’t make your decision “right”, it makes your decision the right decision for you. People move away and then they take the time to justify their move which commonly is them also putting down where they came from. It is completely fine if you want to move because you are unhappy and nothing more really needs to be said about it. If you want to move because you’re happier living there, need to get away from people, want to make a change, or just because you’re a free spirit and want to try something new then that is wonderful, and ultimately all the reason you need to justify your choice. What you don’t need to do is say how the area you came from (which most likely is where the person you are talking to lives) is garbage, has nothing to offer, or is a horrible place. Just because of how you have experienced it, doesn’t mean that’s how other have experienced it as well. To others it may seem like you are disrespecting where they live. I personally love where I live and I don’t ever want to leave this area other than for vacationing. Again, that is my opinion. I choose to live in the Catskill area because I love it here. I grew up here, my family is here, I love what this area offers me, I want to make a family here, and have no desire to go anywhere else to set up roots. My roots are planted and that is all the justification that I need. I am happy for those that stay and those that go. I think everyone should live where they want to live but people need to stop badgering others for not having the same opinion as them. What is right for you may not be right for me.
